Protect your IT against infection with Blue Light Zones™

Protect your IT against infection with Blue Light Zones™

Through good times and bad, companies have always made workplace modernization a point of emphasis, and the reason has always been the same – they want to put the right technology in people’s workspaces so that they’re well equipped to be productive and successful.

Lately, though, that’s been a challenge like never before. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic this past year has forced organizations everywhere to reevaluate the “workplace” as we know it. Some employers are simply having their people work remotely, for fear of spreading the virus; others are slowly beginning to bring people back to work. For those in both groups, it’s imperative for organizations to keep their IT clean and their employees healthy.

So what’s the best way to achieve this? The answer may well be one from outside the tech sphere: ultraviolet germicidal irradiation, or UVGI. UVGI is a method of cleansing objects and surfaces using short-wavelength ultraviolet light. This form of light is harmless to humans and animals, but it causes microorganisms to break down – which means it can be used to eliminate potentially harmful microbes. UVGI has been used for over a century to cleanse medical tools and purify food and water, and we’re now seeing an opportunity to adapt it for the IT sphere.

At Zones, we’re proud to announce a new solution offering that helps organizations everywhere cleanse their IT and keep their employees safe – it’s Blue Light Zones™ (BLZ). This new product uses UVGI technology to cleanse every piece of hardware that passes through our Technology Solution Centers, which means you won’t have to worry about harmful bacteria on your devices when you order from us.

There are several different levels of cleansing available through Blue Light Zones™; your choice may depend on your organization’s needs. A healthcare facility may need deeper cleansing than a retail establishment, for instance. You could opt for our standard UV treatment, in which your IT is cleansed using short-wave ultraviolet light. Alternatively, you could choose our enhanced UV treatment, which is 10 times more effective, or our premium UV treatment, which is hospital-grade – 1,000 times more effective. We also offer a pallet quarantine service, in which an entire pallet of IT products is kept quarantined for two to three weeks.

No matter which level of BLZ service you choose, adopting this solution should have a profound impact on your business. For starters, your IT will be safer, as contaminants will be eliminated and your products will be ready to use. On top of that, your employees will be protected, and you’ll enjoy cost savings as well – eliminating harmful microbes will limit sick time and boost productivity, leading to a clear positive effect on your bottom line.

At Zones, we’re here to help your organization weather this current health crisis. When COVID-19 first emerged, people everywhere rallied together and worked to contain the virus through safety precautions and teamwork. Almost a year has passed, but that work must continue now. By investing in workforce safety solutions like UVGI, we’ll come out of this stronger, safer, and ready to get back to work.
