Zones Named 2015 Regional Supplier of the Year by the National Minority Supplier Development Council

Zones now eligible for National Supplier of the Year honors

On August 25, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) honored Zones with a 2015 Regional Supplier of the Year award. As a Regional Supplier of the Year, we are now eligible for National Supplier of the Year honors, which will be announced at the NMSDC Conference Awards Banquet later this fall.

The Regional Supplier of the Year Awards are given annually to minority suppliers who have distinguished themselves and their businesses by successfully demonstrating growth in sales and employment, consistently providing high-quality products, services and solutions at competitive prices, and significantly contributing to the growth and development of the communities in which they operate.

The Northwest Mountain MSDC Supplier of the Year awards recognize minority business enterprises (MBEs) that have shown outstanding performance and commitment to minority business development over the past year. Zones was nominated to receive this honor by Seattle Public Utilities, a long-time Zones customer.

A hyper-connected Cisco network improves business processes for Del Papa Distributing

Founded more than a century ago, the company today distributes 10 million cases of beer annually, from 30 suppliers. More than 375 employees work at headquarters in Texas City and two other distribution centers.

The family-owned company has a simple aim: to be a great beer distribution company. So when Del Papa set out to build a new 27-acre headquarters, company leaders thought about how technology could contribute to its greatness. “We wanted the new distribution center to have a single, secure network we could use for physical security, communications, collaboration, and even monitoring the temperature of our inventory,” says Steve Holtsclaw, Manager of Information Systems for Del Papa.
